We love singing, drinking tea and eating cake.

by Banana Crumble | Nov 03, 2018

Jenny Deacon is the founder of The Sweet Charity Choirs. This is such a great idea and who can fail to like the thought of such a choir when on their website it says:

At Sweet Charity Choir we believe in supporting people through our love of singing, tea and cake! Every time we meet we have a beautiful selection of mouth watering cakes to eat, all baked by our members, accommpanied with a cup of tea or coffee. 100% of the donations from this go towards our chosen charity.

Members are able to choose which songs they sing, they choose which charities they want to support and are just encouraged to enjoy the singing. They have choirs in Southend, Dorset and Hampshire. You do have to pay to join up but you get singing lessons and the chance to take part, but beyond that singing is proven to help with well being and positive mental health. Being part of a choir is a great thing as it boosts confidence and gives people the chance to achieve something as part of a team and to make friends and of course raise money for charity. What a really great idea and as far as we can see positive all round. Anything that lets you sing, drink tea, eat cake and raises money for charity can only be positive in our eyes!!

We would like to wish Jenny and her choirs all the very best for the future and look forward to hearing more about their events in the future.
