Riyad Mahrez has sent a personal message to a 12-year-old boy who survived the recent earthquake in Indonesia that has claimed over 1500 lives. The youngster, called Rizky, was watching a Manchester City game in an internet café when the earthquake struck.
Rizky is an ardent Manchester City fan and when the player heard about his plight he sent a video message wishing him a speedy recover. Rizky’s arm was broken when the internet café in which he was watching the game collapsed.
“Hi Rizky, how are you? I hope you are getting better,” Mahrez said. “I heard that you are a big City fan. So I just want to wish you a good recovery. I hope you will get better and we give you the best wishes from Man City.”
Rizky was trapped beneath rubble until a neighbour saw his hand and fortunately pulled him to safety. He survived with a broken arm and, after a spell in a make-shift hospital, has since been reunited with his family.
Banana Crumble wishes him and everyone else that has survived the disaster all the best for the future. We can only imagine how difficult it is for all of them.
