As the final series of England’s test summer has come to an end we wanted to take a look back at the retiring England Legend that is Alastair Cook. Before the final test Cook announced that he would be retiring from the International Game and he certainly did it in style. In fitting tribute the Indian team formed a Guard of Honour as Cook walked out to bat.
The man nicknamed “Chef ” cooked up a storm for England scoring 147 in his final innings. A man who has struggled for runs of late, showed just how good a batsmen he still is. He is England’s record run scorer and here are some other statistics that prove what a legend he really is. Going forward, not many, if any, will be able to out shine these remarkable achievements.

After a fantastic career, many are saying he has bowed out too early, but the man himself has said “No, the time is right for me and my family”.
All we can say is “Thank you Chef, the greatest England Batsmen of all time and probably a man impossible to replace”.
