On Saturday, we featured 8 year old Sophia Hyde who was raising funds for the Southend NHS after she was inspired by Captain Tom. Sophia was planning on doing 1000 laps of her garden to raise funds.
We thought we would update you to say that yesterday Sophia actually smashed her total and completed 2000 laps and also to say that her total funds raised so far have risen to almost £2300. This is amazing, as to have the perseverance and determination to complete so many laps in a garden really does take strength of character and we thought it would be fantastic to let you all know how well she has done.
Don’t forget if you would like to help Sophia with her fundraising then you can click here for details. Sophia has Cystic Fibrosis and for her, exercise is vital in keeping herself healthy but in these strangest of times to channel this into something positive is a real good news story. No doubt we will see plenty more good news and inspiring stories from Sophia over the coming months and years. I understand from Sophia’s mum that she was really pleased to be getting any coverage for what she was doing so why not add a message on our Facebook post and we will pass it on. Well done Sophia from us all.
