Non recyclable plastic waste can be used to produce Hydrogen

by Banana Crumble | Oct 19, 2019

Since we started Banana Crumble we have often featured articles about plastic and the different good news schemes that are around to help reduce the amount of contaminated plastics that end up in landfill or the sea. We have recently read an article from Chester University saying that they have found a way to use non recyclable plastic waste to produce Hydrogen. This in turn can be used to heat homes and fuel cars without producing greenhouse gas emissions. This new technology will be used commercially at a plant near Ellesmere Port in Cheshire. It is schemes like this that are good news as hopefully by using this technology it will mean that millions of tonnes of waste can be used rather than ending up destroying the environment on both land and in the sea.
