Good News from Aldi

Aldi have offered all their surplus food from their stores on Christmas Eve. This is great news but surely all supermarkets should be doing this…….

How fantastic is this? Aldi have offered all of their surplus food on Christmas Eve to local organisations and charities. The store shuts at 4pm on Christmas Eve and doesn’t re open until the 27th December so rather than waste this food they have made this offer. Organisations have to contact Aldi  to claim some of this food.

As great as this is that Aldi have come up with this idea – surely this should be done by all supermarkets and not just at Christmas. The shops are full to the rafters with food just before Christmas and there is always going to be a surplus so as a first step this is great but come on the rest of the supermarkets follow suit and hopefully this can be continued as hunger is not just for Christmas for those in need.
