Here at Banana Crumble we often say that only the bad news is reported and more often than not, that is the case. I was shocked to read over the last few months of people leaving horrible notes on the windscreen of ambulances, whilst the paramedics were treating seriously ill people because they had blocked their cars in.
I can understand the frustration but in the grand scheme of things the paramedics do an amazing job and should never be the target of abuse. So many people owe their lives to these people and being held up for a few minutes is, in reality, not life and death. I am sure that ambulances only block drives in real emergencies or because there is literally nowhere else to park.
Last week I saw a headline and thought it was going to be another similar story but how wrong was I. This time on the windscreen was a £10 note and a scrap of paper saying buy yourself a coffee. The ambulance crew said this small gesture had restored their faith in humankind.
We all like to be appreciated and it is the small things in life like this that make a real difference. There are some people out there who know how to make a difference!
