Hello, my name is Danny and I’m from Essex. I recently graduated in BSc Economics with Politics from Loughborough University in addition to spending a year at a top global investment bank – I’ll also be heading to Dublin soon to start my graduate career in Sales at Facebook! Outside of my academic and professional career, I run a blog and publish articles on a wide variety of topics including self-development, culture and mental health. I’m very interested in promoting causes involved in supporting mental health – I’ve spoken about this topic on a number of panels and I hope to continue to expand this moving forward.

What is your favourite joke?
The Russell Peters joke about Indian parents – I can definitely relate to it.
What makes you smile?
Seeing my family and friends happy makes me smile a lot.
What is your favourite good news story?
Currently I quite like the story about the successful rescue of the boys from the Thai caves.
What inspires you?
Self-made success stories and seeing those around me strive to achieve high success levels.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Guaranteed universal access to free education for every child – I would love for this to be provided.
If you could have one superpower what would you choose and why?
Time travel – I want to go back in the past and see what it was really like and travel to the future and find out what happens!
What is your favourite food?
My mum’s homemade curries – to this day it’s undefeated.
What is your favourite drink?
Monster Energy Ultra White – I know it’s not good for me but it’s too great.
If you are going on holiday what luxury item would you take from home?
My camera.
If you could make one law, what would it be and why?
I’d make a law to make restaurants give their extra and/or leftover food to the homeless rather than throwing it in the bin to support these people and also reduce wastage.
Give us a random piece of information about you that people wouldn’t know?
I’m excessively organized, probably far too much (although my close friends know this very well).
What is your favourite phrase or saying?
“Be phenomenal or be forgotten” – Dr. Eric Thomas
What cause, project or event would you like to promote?
Causes supporting mental health such as MIND and Time to Change are all doing great work for mental health in the UK. I’d like to further promote men’s mental health as I believe this is a critical issue for men that needs to be addressed.
Who is your favourite music artist?
It’s hard to pick between the two but either Kanye West or Drake.
Who is the person that you feel has shaped your life most?
I’m not sure if I can pick just one – I’m very lucky to be surrounded by such a great group of people. Some of my closest friends have (unintentionally) shaped my life a lot; they’re incredibly hardworking, disciplined, ambitious and all-around great people with good hearts. Watching them grow and mature has indirectly helped me to do the same. I have huge aspirations for my life and the way I think has in some way been shaped by them.
