Banana Chat - meet Alexis Firoozieh

by Banana Crumble | Apr 11, 2018

Hey Banana Crumble! My name is Alexis, but the majority of my friends call me Lex.

I’m 22 years old and I work as a PA to 4 senior board members for a global media agency in central London. The role is demanding and challenging but that’s what keeps inspiring me to progress further in a career that I love. Alongside this I have set up and run my own beauty business from home for the past two years. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends and jet-setting on various holidays around the world.

What is your favourite joke?
Here’s a banana themed one especially for Banana Crumble
Q: What is the easiest way to make a banana split?
A: Cut it in half.

What makes you smile?
So many things… spending time with friends & family, animals, looking back at old photos/videos and all the memories, visiting new places, sunshine, yummy food (it makes me happy).

What is your favourite good news story?
When a community comes together in act of kindness and humanity. Recently, a local World War 2 veteran sadly passed away and had no friends or family to attend his funeral. When news got out about this through the power of social media this story touched everyone’s hearts and hundreds of local people attended his funeral to give him the farewell he deserved.

What inspires you?
People who dedicate their lives to improve those of others who are less fortunate. It is incredibly selfless and I admire them hugely.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I would eradicate cruelty in the world. I can’t understand how anyone can inflict harm on an innocent animal, child or adult.

If you could have one superpower what would you choose and why?
To banish life-limiting and terminal illnesses, no one should have to suffer through them.

What is your favourite food?
Oh I love food, this is too difficult to narrow down!

I’m a massive carnivore and can demolish a fillet steak far too quickly.

What is your favourite drink?
Wine wine and more wine….prosecco, mojitos, and then maybe some more wine (I’m not an alcoholic). Also, can never beat a good diet coke.

If you are going on holiday what luxury item would you take from home?
I would definitely take my phone so that I can take photos of everywhere I visit and capture memories for the future.

If you could make one law, what would it be and why?
Ban pigeons from all public places!! They’re a complete phobia of mine and would make walking around cities a lot more pleasant!

Give us a random piece of information about you that people wouldn’t know?
I’m half-English, half-Persian but was born in the USA.

What is your favourite phrase or saying?
“What goes around comes around”

What cause, project or event would you like to promote?
Great Ormond Street Hospital – they’re such an incredible and inspirational team. Having had first-hand experience of their expertise, I know how just one diagnosis can affect so many lives but how the help of the staff at Great Ormond Street can make an unthinkable time that little bit more bearable. They depend on charitable donations to continue their hard work, dedication and treatment research and it would be incredible to promote this fabulous cause and help make a difference.

Who is your favourite music artist?
Queen B (Beyoncé)

Who is the person that you feel has shaped your life most?
This is an easy answer – my parents (after all they did raise me). They taught me so many invaluable life skills and encouraged me to always do my best and to be proud of my achievements, hard work and ambition. Family is extremely important to me and this is a value I am proud of, they taught me to always respect others and I could not believe more in the phrase “treat others how you want to be treated’.
